Petha, is a sweet from the city of Agra. Petha is said to have originated in the court of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Petha is famous from Agra and this variety is covered by a Geographical Indicator (GI) tag. Petha is usually rectangular, but it is not uncommon to find Petha in a cylindrical shape. Traditionally, Petha is made from ash gourd and sugar.
